Batstien Salabanzi is fuckin amazing. Originally from the French Congos I remember my first time seeing Bastien skate I think around 2000 I couldn't help but think how?? how could he do that? how could he make it look so clean and effortless? how?? To me he was a big step in the progression of skateboarding. Every contest he went to he amazed and dropped buttery video parts stuffed with full cab flips and huge backside flips. When I heard that he was no longer with his major sponsors I prayed that he wasn't pulling one of those old pro moves and just disappear (Drake Jones, Jovantae Turner, etc..) Rumors circulated, dead or heavy drug problems. But its said that he just lost his motivation to be here in the states and moved back to Europe to play music and get reconnected to his roots.
