rorschach, comic version on the left, movie version on the rightso i went see the watchmen the other night, partially out of curiosity, partially because i love comic book movies. let's just say, nothing's fucking with the dark knight, period, point blank.
aside from that, the movie is a pretty good watch. the cinematography wasn't like revolutionary or any of those gassed up words they used to get you in the theater, but it definitely felt like i was watching a comic book, if you get that.
the characters are all pretty unique, just because only 1 of them actually is "superhero" in the sense of superpowers. the rest are all very 'batman' in the sense that they have no superhuman strength or powers, just training and a ton of anger. however, i wasn't really impressed with any of their depth.
the only character i could really vibe with is your narrator of sorts, rorschach. he's the guy with the inkblot mask that has the raspy voice, and if you go see the movie, the one who does most of the ass kicking.
of course, one of the hottest 35+ year old women in hollywood, carla gugino (sin city, righteous kill, snake eyes) is in this and in her flashback scenes, looks FINE as ever.
overall, i'd suggest for anyone to go see this if you want to catch a movie that won't make you regret going, but for people picky about movies like myself, approach with caution.
